Recommended Vaccination Schedule
We recommend vaccinations based on your horses lifestyle and exposure level. At minimum, we recommend all horses have their "Core" vaccines. To us, this includes Eastern and Western Equine Encephalomyelitis, West Nile, Tetanus, and Rabies. For horses living in boarding barns, going to shows, traveling away from home or being exposed to horses that do, we recommend the flu/rhino vaccine both in the spring and the fall (every 6 months).
In addition to this, some diseases are location dependent, or reliant on whether your horse is in contact with new horses and facilities on a regular basis. If either of these are the case, it may be worth it to get vaccines such as Strangles or Potomac Horse Fever.
