Pre-Purchase Exams
Basic pre-purchase exams assess the overall body condition, evaluate the horse for evidence of injury, surgery or lameness, check the oral cavity for tooth abnormalities and issues, examine the horse’s eyes, listen to the heart, and listen to the horse’s lungs for any potential respiratory unsoundness. A more in depth and complete pre-purchase exam includes radiographs (x-rays) to determine the interior soundness of the horse.
